Ecology : It is a wild deciduous broad-leaved arboreous tree of 10-20m high, distributed in the altitude of 100~1,560m, especially in Cheonnam, Cheonbuk (Deukyoosan (Mt.)), Gyeonganm, Gyeongbuk Province, Chungbuk (Jukryeong), and Pyeongbuk. The barks are dark brown colored and peeled off aside and the twigs also have no dark brown hairs. It is distributed in Japan and China.
Note : Leaves are alternate, ovalness or egg shape lanceolate, acute, round-bottom or wide sharp-bottom, length of 6-12cm, hairless, fine marginal sawtooth or compound serrate, short ended aciculate, 2-3cm long leaf stalk with 2-3 lines. Leaf back is grayish green colored. Flower is bloomed in April-May, light red or nearly white, hung in corymb or umbel by 2~5, and has hairless pedicel, bract on floral axis, hairless calyx tube, ovalness sharp-head lobe, and hairless style. Fruit is stone fruit, spherical shape, and ripened in June-July with dark red
